Everything we think is basically an affirmation. Whether it's negative or positive, every thought becomes an affirmation. All of our self talk is affirming what we believe to be true. Often these beliefs were formed when we were children. These can often cause us problems because they are no longer appropriate. So to change an unwanted behavior or belief we need to change the negative to a positive.
To do that you need to think about what it is you want to change. Positive affirmations can be anything one might desire; from health to joy to prosperity and beyond. Whatever you desire, it is possible to have and affirmations are a means to that end. When you know what those things are, make a list of the most important. Now you are ready to write a positive affirmation.
Positive affirmations must have the following:
--Read like they are already true
--Be positive not negative
--Be in the present tense
For example:
I now have perfect health
Now, if that is just too hard for you to say, you can do it in stages. You could start with "I allow myself to have perfect health."
When that feels comfortable, you could say, "I now have perfect health."
And when that feels comfortable you could say, "I am perfect health."
Once you have met these criteria, write the affirmation(s) down on several index cards or pieces of paper. Read them aloud several times a day. Make sure to read them first thing when you get up and last thing before you go to bed, because we are most receptive at those times. Also place your affirmation cards around your home or office so you will see them often throughout the day.
A few ways to turbo charge your affirmation(s):
Say them aloud while looking in a mirror - eye contact magnifies the importance of the statement.
Read them with passion - the higher your emotional state the more effective they are.
Sing or chant the affirmation - we find it easier to believe a song.
Write it down many times (10-20) - this imprints it on your mind.
When you say your positive affirmation you will have one of two possible emotions. Some you will love and enjoy saying and others will feel like a big fat lie. The ones you enjoy will most likely see an immediate change and the others will probably take longer. How long depends on you, the issue, how deeply the belief is held and how determined you are to change. Once you are prepared to embrace and accept the change from your heart, then that change will happen. Once it has changed, you will know it and that problem will just be gone.
And you can move on to the next miracle. You deserve it!

Hi, Neat post. There’s a problem with your website in internet explorer, would test this… IE still is the market leader and a large portion of people will miss your excellent writing because of this problem.
